The ongoing Senior Show contains artwork from current senior undergrads presenting works they've made during their time at California State University Sacramento. Printed materials containing images of several works through the galleries.

Rachel Cudmore, Drenched in Sorrow, 2024, Reduction linocut, glazed stoneware

Raymond Terrases, Monstrous Skatepark, 2024, Mixed Media

Some works that I found to be most interesting visually utilized their mediums in a creative way. Rachel Cudmore's piece Drenched in Sorrow (2024) combines printmaking with ceramics. This combination creates a context for the piece to exist. The printed table, wallpaper, and flowers give the vessel more purpose than it would seem to have on its own. Raymond Terrases' piece Monstrous Skatepark (2024) is a mixed media work that combines unusual materials (what I believe may be insulation, toy skateboards, and LED lights) to create an obscure creature that displays oscillating lights reminiscent to that of a deep-sea creature.

Rachel Cudmore, From the River to the Sea, 2024, Reduction Linocut

Student artist Rachel Cudmore also displayed their print From the River to the Sea (2024) in support of the ongoing student and activist movements seeking a ceasefire and liberation of Palestine.

Anthony Chavez, Untitled, 2024, PLA plastic and Rust-Oleum Spray Paint

Mia Hill, Patched, 2024, Earthenware, wire and embroidery floss

Mia Hill's Patched (2024) is one of several pieces that I noticed by the artist which resembled purses or bags. The patterning and imitation of fabric through clay impressed me. I was especially impressed by the chain, as I assume it is also covered with clay. The artist even included seems on the clay bag to add to its realism.

Anthony Chavez, Shell, 2024, PLA plastic and Rust-Oleum Spray Paint

Madison Murray, Untitled, 2024, Oil on Canvas

Madison Dunn, Where will you go?, 2024, Oil on canvas

Nirmala Prasad, Futuristic 3024, 2024, Soldate 10 with glazeware

Giselle Villela, Rats!, 2024, Mixed Media

Madison Murray, Load-Bearing Wall, 2024, Oil on Canvas

Madison Murray's paintings place female nudes in uncomfortable spaces. the artist's Untitled (2024) and Load-Bearing Wall (2024) give a feeling of claustrophobia, adding to the weight of the work's preexisting feelings of dread. The environment built in these paintings is detailed and provides a strong narrative to support the struggling female figures.

Madison Dunn, Drift, 2024, Oil on Canvas

Rachel Cudmore, Sedimentary, 2024, Glazed earthenware

Rachel Cudmore, Sky Cycle, 2024, Glazed earthenware

James Perego (From Left to Right) Dad's Chawan, Mom's Chawan, James' Chawan, Josh's Chawan, Ethan's Chawan, Tymeri's Chawan, and Augustine's Chawan, 2024, B-mix clay with black underglaze

Ethan Wright, I'm From Around the Way, I am Leaving Here With Something, 2024, Stoneware, Underglaze

Josh Narciso, (Left) Home, 2024, 3D animation (Maya), and (Right) Zoomin, 2024, 3D animation (Maya)

Rachel Cudmore, Go with the Flow, 2024, Glazed earthenware

Giselle Villela, Burn the Witch, 2024, Mixed Media

Giselle Villela's mixed media pieces were humorous and playful. I wasn't sure how much of the medium was preexisting toys or materials due to their uniformity, but I viewed their work as a sort of collage of material to create these silly little scenes of chaos. They were fun to look at and I especially thought that Burn the Witch (2024) was a creative and fun display.

Madison Dunn, Dissipate, 2024, Oil on canvas

Visitors browsing the Senior Show inside the R.W. & Joyce Witt Gallery

I was pleasantly surprised by the wide array of mediums and works presented at the Senior Show: 2024. Quite a few of these pieces stuck out to me, but all of the pieces contributed something interesting to the space. I was able to learn more about the diversity of talents and skills of the senior students at our school.
